High-Visibility Priming & Painting

Over time, sun exposure and weather can cause hydrant paint to fade, peel, and rust, making them difficult for emergency crews to locate—especially at night. We provide professional restoration services to ensure your hydrants are protected from corrosion and easily visible.

  • Surface Prep: We wire-brush away old peeling paint and rust to ensure a smooth, long-lasting bond.

  • Industrial Coatings: We use "Safety Red" high-gloss, rust-inhibitive enamel designed specifically for direct-to-metal utility use.

  • NFPA 291 Color Coding: We don't just paint them red. Based on our flow test results, we can paint the caps (bonnets) the correct color (Blue, Green, Orange, or Red) so firefighters know the GPM capacity at a glance.

  • Reflective Detailing: We can add reflective markers or stenciling for maximum visibility in low-light conditions.

  • NFPA 25 requires private fire hydrants to be inspected annually and flow-tested annually, plus inspected again after every single operation, with maintenance also done yearly to ensure they are fully functional, drain properly, and remain accessible for effective fire protection. 

  • If the hydrant is on your private property or HOA common area, the property owner is responsible for maintenance, not the county

  • Hydrant exercising involves fully opening and closing the hydrant to ensure the internal stem and main valve move freely. Without regular exercising, mineral deposits can seize the valve in place, making it impossible for firefighters to open during an emergency. We include exercising as a standard part of our annual inspection.

  • Most Georgia hydrants are dry barrels, meaning water is held below the frost line to prevent freezing in winter
